cases(Canine Disease)
·Canine Distermper

  Canine distemper is kind of severe contagious virus disease caused by canine distemper virus. The earlier symptom is bi-phasic fever, leucocyte reduction, acute coryza, bronchitis, pneumonia, serious gastroenteritis, and neurosis. Dogs of various ages can suffer canine distemper while doggies and young dogs are easier to be infected. After virus comes into body from respiratory canal and alimentary canal, it will proliferate in macrophage in twenty-four hours. Passing through part of lymph system, the virus reaches amygdalae and bronchia lymph nodes. Virus will sharply proliferate in amygdalae and bronchia lymph nodes within 2-4 days. At this time, there are only few infected monocyte discovered in thymus, spleen and marrow. Virus will proliferate in spleen, mesentery lymph nodes in 4-6 days, which results in fever and reduction of leucocyte (mainly T and B lymphocyte reduction). Virus will spread into epithelia and nerve system in 8-9 days, which results in plasma-derived virus disease. Antibody will produce gradually in 14 days. And with increase of antibody, virus will be cleaned in body. Whereas some may be remained in nerve cells and skin, which can cause the above symptom reappearance in several or tens of days.

  Symptom: The latent period is generally 3-6 days. Ill dogs may get a bi-phasic fever over 40℃ lasting 2-3 days until recovery. And it will reappear in 2-3 days. Most dogs suffer rhinitis and conjunctivitis with water-like, mucus, or purulent nasal liquid.

  Hereafter there is 2-3 days for recovery. However, if medical treatment is not carried on time during this period, pneumonia, enteritis, nephritis, cystitis or cephalitis will occur rapidly. Respiratory system infectious dogs feature dry and split nasoscope, discharge of purulent nasal mucus, swelled eyelid with purulent secretion, and then cornea canker, cough, sternutation. Alimentary canal infected dogs are characterized by appetite loss, vomit, discharge of black mucus or dry stool, dehydration, weight loss, which are quite similar with that of CPV. Dogs whose nerve system has been invaded by virus will appear the above symptom of respiratory and digestive system suffered types firstly, and then neurosis symptom, that is, twitch, even twitch on brain top displays or it appears directly. As to the skin infected, red papilla, water or purulent tumefaction and extreme smell come into being. Hyperkeratosis of paws will occurs in post period of the above four types of canine distemper.
  Diagnosis: 1. Actual symptom and epidemiology.
     2. Assistant diagnosis: blood analysis
     3. Serology: direct fluorescence antibody testing canine distemper virus
     4. Pathology: embodier inspection
     5. Virus inspection by electron microscope if possible
  Treatment: 1. Neutralisation of virus, antibody injection
     2. Immunity system protection, adjustment of cell-mediated effection
     3. Corresponding treatment, anti-bacteria, inflammation diminishing, roll out cough and vomit, prevention agaist dehydration.

·Canine reovirus

  Canine reovirus is rarely appearing and always ignored by researchers and veterinarians. It is quite easy to take this virus when we separate and breed canine distemper virus and canine infectious laryngotracheitis virus. This kind of virus can induce canine respiratory infection features fever, cough, upper respiratory infection, sometimes alimentary canal inflammation accompanied. Consequently canine reovirus is really serious.

Symptom: dogs suffering canine reovirus always get a fever over 40℃, durative cough, discharge of serum-like or purulent nasal mucus, purulent conjunctivitis, bronchitis, pneumonia with heavy breath. Especially for doggies, they have to open mouth to breathe. In addition, loose or black mucus stool may appear. If not cured on time, other disease is easy to arose.
.
   Diagnosis:
1.first diagonis by actual symptom and epidemiology.
        2.HI experiment to test antibody's titer
        3.Virus inspection by electron microscope if possible
  Treatment:
1.Neutralisation of virus;
       2. Stop cough and choke;
       3. Anti-bacteria, inflammation diminishing;
       4. Corresponding treatment to avoid causing other disease.

·Canine fungal pneumonia

  Canine fungal pneumonia is kind of chronic pneumonia arosed by mildew and spore of mildew including aspergillus, histoplasmosis and cryptococcus whose spores are widely spread in Nature. Dogs are extremely easy to get the pneumonia while appearing depressive resistance, long-term taking antibiotics or suppering respiratory catarrhal inflammation.
   Symptom: Similar with that of bronchitis. Discharge of foul nasal mucus. Mycelium and spore of mildew can be discovered by microscope. Other symptom: heavy breath, pulmonary crackles, frequent cough, white mucosa, turbid or canker cornea.
  Diagnosis: 1. .first diagonis by actual symptom, pathological change and epidemiology;
       2. Sampling and dyeing the piece. Mildew can be discovered;
       3. Fungal culture if possible.
  Treatment: 1. Control mildew can induce general infection;
       2. Corresponding treatment to avoid causing other disease.

·Rables also called canine madness

  Rabies also called canine madness or hydrophobia is kind of directly touching infectious disease among man and animal (man, canis, felid, etc.) caused by rabic virus. In case of bite by dogs carrying rabic virus, there is almost no possibility for the victim to survive. Accordingly it is rabic immunity that must be implemented to pet dogs. Rabic symptom features orgasm, violence, saliva discharging and consciousness loss until general paralysis to death.

  [Symptom]Short or long latent period of rabies, 15 days in general. The longer even several months or years. Length of latent period closely relates to infected poisoning, position and antibody level.
  Rabies can be divided into violent type and paralysis type according to symptom.
   Violent Type: Three periods: pre-drive period, exciting period and paralysis period.
  In pre-drive period, 1-2 days generally, ill dogs will be depressive, afraid of lights, not obeying their masters and like to eat special stuff with slow reaction, bad appetite, difficult deglutition, increasing saliva and mydriasis. Then in exciting period successively, ill dogs will be violent and nervous. They will actively attack their masters or other animals with turbulent consciousness and paralysis laryngeal muscle. After that, they will turn to be depressive and fatigue. In case of slight physical recovery, they will be mad again, gazing forward and biting self limbs if there is any stimulation outside. Ill dogs once walk out of home, they will forge how to go back and wander around with hoarse yell, paralysis mandible, lots of saliva. They are extremely dangerous for man and other animals. Accordingly if finding dogs suffering cabies, we must notify related sections, the sooner the better, to execute these dogs.
  Paralysis Type:
General muscular paralysis, difficult standing-up, twitch, tongue prolapse, discharging saliva, and respiratory centrum paralysis or crock-up to death.
  [Prevention] Injecting rabic bacterin or vaccine can prenvent against rabies. The procedures in particular: first vaccine injection for 3-4 months old dogs, the second for one-year dogs, and then vaccine injection every two or three years. First bacterin injection for 3-4 months old dogs, the second in 3-4 weeks after the first time, and then immunization every one year.
  Rabies is most dangerous to man. If not injected vaccine in twenty-four hours after bitten by rabies dogs, the victim will be definitely dead while rabic symptom appears. Consequently you have to fulfil pet's vaccine injection in accordance with immunization procedures and prevent against bite by pets. Large domestic dogs must be fastened to avoid any hurt to man. In case of bite by indefinite dogs, the victim must go to immunization sections, the sooner the better for urgent immunization injection. Dogs wandering around and wild dogs should be caught immediately for immunization injection or other suitable treatment.

  [Treatment]Up to now, there is no medicine to cure this disease.
