CPV, that is canine parvovisrus in total and folksay is "tharm-turn-over", is kind of serious canine disease features vomit, blood stool and blood poisoning. This deadly disease is also characterized by fast development and death. In general there are five fatal reasons: 1. acute myocarditis; 2. blood poisoning; 3. blood loss, dehydration, electrolyte turbulence, whole-body dysfunction and shock; 4. succeeded indigitation; 5. succeeded acute pancreatitis.

　　It is a mis-idea that "tharm-turn-over" only occurs on doggies. Actually adult dogs can also infect the disease as doggies whose resistance is too weak to recover successfully.

　　Since its invasion in China in 1978, CPV has been crazely spread across the country, which led great damage to canine breeding industry. And its influence has still existed until today. Thanks to over double decades of research, a full set of relatively developed prevention and cure measures has stopped CPV large-scale spread and greatly reduced death rate.

　　While everything is always changing. In a recent decade, incidence of CPV has been climbing even most dogs were injected vaccination. And its symptom is quite different from the ealier. Some illed dogs carrying virus for a long time look like heathy. While evocator induces the disease, only light vomit and coffee colored or black stool like coal tar appear, no blood stool like ketchup or jowar soup, less fishy smell, which is similar with that of common gastroenteritis. It is difficult to achieve right diagnosis unless virological test is fulfiled.

　　What's reason on earth? According to virologist of PLA Veterinarian University, Professor Lu, Xianzhu, CPV has experienced several times of gene float in recent two decades. In accordance with the changes, we call the original virus CPV, type 1, aberrant virus CPV, type2, and CPV, type 2a, CPV, type 2b, CPV, type 2c for the subsequent aberrance.

　　In terms of the research, reason of fail immunity of bacterin and atypical symptom come into being. However, the key is to bring forward new tasks for prevention and cure of CPV, that is, continuous virological test. Measures must be updated with development of virus. Accordingly we have to research and produce corresponding new bacterin, and expect veterinarian to be careful for digestive system disease diagnosis. To prevent against CPV, virological test is required.

　　Stress is kind of nonspecific recovery and adaptation reaction to cope with sudden or urgent situation. Stimulator induces stress is named stress original divided into non-damnification and damnification. The former includes sudden scared stimulation, twinge, fatigue, fever, coldness, migration, congestion, starve, overfull, sorrow and anxiety. The latter refers wound, burn, radiation, poisoning, flu, and so on. All of the above can arose functional decompensation, structure damage, even diseases.

　　In recent years, there is kind of disease frequently occured on pet dogs in cities. At first, the illed dogs don't like move about, and lie in cool place spreading limbs, simultaneously enjoy gut-dauting. In addition, their appetite turns strong or weak. After that, they are afraid of being put in higher place, touching and dauting. Otherwise snarl or cough, tough gut, arch back and inflexible walk appear. Afterwards they cannot stand up with heavy breath all day. However some illed dogs will be taken bad suddenly without the above symptom. So masters only consider it as sprain. Veterinarians diagnose calcium deficiency, then spinal column protruding, paraplegia at last, accordingly treatment of calcium supply, block-out, and acupuncture respectively. Plenty of research have been devoted to the cure of this kind of disease. However, X-ray photography and magnetic resonance can not offer a final solution. Anyway symptom extremely similar with paraplegia formally supports the wrong conclusion of spinal column protruding.

　　Whereas even raisers doubt whether it is really spinal column protruding?

　　We have been dedicated to the solution of this disease since 1992, and accomplished over 500 cases in total. Major infected dogs are Pekingese, Shih Tzu, Pomeranians, Dachshunds, and Pug. And Pekingese's cases rank top among the total of which 77% are male, 73% female, over 98% healing rate, and 94% recover in five days, 4% in 7-14 days.

　　According to actual cases, we find out that even though severity level of loco motor system obstruction is various, there are the same symptom: highly tough dorsal muscles and psoas, pain, tumefaction, slow reaction, even muscular dystrophy successively. But reflex of tail, anus, knee and legs will not disappear. There are no typical pathological change of intervertebral disc, and position-combining pathological change in vertebral canal. Back-forward protruding of 13 chest vertebra and lumbar 1 vertebra occur on few dogs, whose symptom is wide clearance of spinal column but narrow clearance of vertebra, which will disappear after healing.

　　In a word, the disease features high incidence, more male infection, 94% fast recovery and no obvious change discovered by X-ray photography.

　　We have found that dogs got the disease are picking up food, meat-preferred, and sometimes vomit yellow mucous by right of detailed investigation and comprehensive symptom. 90% of ill dogs off their feed after cramming favorite food have been sick after taking sunflower seeds, peanut, walnut kernel, corn, chestnut, filbert, chocolate, bone, chicken or duck bone, baked mutton, etc. Some get ill after taking shower, vaccination, fight, exercise, or unhealthy food in refrigerator.

　　If suffering this disease, some dogs may get a fever over 40°. Highly tough abdomen, then pain appears, after that, active or passive intestines peristalsis. After special treatment, all ill dogs will discharge black stool like coal tar lasting several days. Some get CPV, type 2 as accompanied disease.

　　As a conclusion, we diagnose canine stress syndrome. Its pathogeny in particular: series of changes induced by disease stimulator cause gastroenteric exudation and peristalsis turbulence. Concrete symptom is mucosal hemorrhage, dropsy, erosion, canker, convulsion, pain, pectoral muscle and abdominal muscle's strain and pain. Tetanic phrenic muscle arosed by ache can also cause pressing breath. Durative ache will always be lasting. Consequently muscle will get dropsy. Simultaneously large cumulation of lactic acid, metabolite of deoxygenated muscle as a result of slow blood circulation will further accelerate muscle damnification. And then arch or side-bent rachis appears, which results in incapability of movement. Tumefaction pain will disappear, successively muscular dystrophy will come into being, and finally obvious ridge will be brought out.

　　Well than someone will raise a question that if it is a gastroenteric disease, why ill dog can enjoy meals and will not vomit. The reason is that increasing exudation of canine glucocorticoid hormone accelerates glucose metabolism, which will accordingly stimulate appetite. Whereas to stop feeding is the key for ill dogs to recover soon.

　　Eyesight is of great importance for dogs. It is a big economic loss that if Military dog become blind as a result of being washed out. As for pet dogs, ablepsia will influence their pretty appearance, which brings displeasure to their masters. Cornea perforation has always been a hang-up for veterinarians for a long time. Most of veterinarians consider eyes as "forbidden area", that is, they are afraid of indiscretion owing to its significant role in animal's life. It is quite difficult to cure optical disease due to eye's complicated structure and delicated organization. Consequently many veterinarians always put forward conservative treatment only dropping eyewater. Illed dogs may recover slowly or turn worth gradually to blindness at last, or even get fester panophthalmitis of which the only treatment is to extirpate eyeball.
　　 We have been dedicated to the research on this subject since 1990. Up to May of 2001, we have treated 100 cases by operation, 90 of which are recovery successfully except 10 are single-eye recovery while the other remained loses eyesight. Moreover 11 of recovery dogs returned to army for service.
　　Our paper subjected on operational treatment of dog's cornea abscess perforation achieved excellent paper prize at the 7th Fine Arts Academy in Guilin in 2001.
